At first glance, the death, devastation, and destruction in so much of the world seems like (and is) absolute tragedy.
No one wanted this.
We would wish it away if we could.
But we can’t.
And therefore, we must choose to seek the good in it.
Whether it’s more time with your family, more focus on a healthy routine, rethinking what you want for your future, using being laid off to build that business you’ve been dreaming of…
Whatever the case may be, there are amazing things that are coming from this whole experience that not one of us ever saw coming.
There are new, incredible possibilities opening for you if you choose to look for them.
For me, it’s been a chance to reflect and rethink some of my habits and routines, a chance to be grateful for things I perhaps took for granted on a daily basis, as they often make up a small part of our day! To be grateful for the things I have that maybe others don’t have.
Of course, I missed many things during the first lockdown like:
- I missed seeing people in person
- I missed going out for a meal
- I missed shopping in real shops
- I missed spontaneity
- I missed teaching my fitness sessions face to face
- I missed hugs and travelling overseas!!
And I will miss all these things again during this second lockdown!
There were and still are many things to miss. However, having to reduce both my material and social life has made me feel more grateful for the things I do have. I have a lovely home with beautiful countryside right on our doorstep. Paul and I did more walking around this countryside in 4 months during the first lockdown than we ever did in the 6 years since we moved here!!!
I live in a time with technology which meant I could take my business online! I was able to teach my fitness sessions to my lovely members which kept us all fit, healthy and of course sane during this time. This saved The Studio and we were able to reopen in August! I will be moving all online again after having to close The Studio for a second time this year! I am so grateful to be able to do this!
I have a wonderful family and am blessed to have some fabulous friends too!
And for all of this, I’m incredibly grateful.
Finding gratitude in everything, even the ugly things, keeps us sane and moving forward.
It’s a choice we get to make.
I’d love to hear from you on this, reply to this e-mail, I'd love to know
Nicki xx
