Motivation is fleeting.
Literally you can be motivated on Sunday morning when you wake up to put a plan in place, and complete unmotivated an hour later.
HABITS though? They lead to results once that initial motivation is gone.
Yet so often the only goals we set for ourselves are results goals.
Lose X amount of weight.
Do X amount of press ups.
Gain X amount of muscle.
Get X time in our next race.
But we never really set goals based on making the habit changes that will get us there.
If you want results, it starts with making daily small changes. And doing them consistently day after day.
It's about making changes that are often even hard and uncomfortable.
Changes that, in and of themselves, are an accomplishment.
So why not make those changes part of your goals? Why not then celebrate when you achieve them?
Too often we get focused on the end result. When we NEED to stay focused on the daily tasks that will add up.
So as you set goals for 2020, focus on setting HABIT goals. Focus on those changes you'll need to get the results you ultimately want.
When we make those daily habit changes a goal themselves and see those as wins, we are more likely to stay on track and consistent to see better results...often even faster!
