Hi ,
Â
Â
What a day the Real Women Event was 💕
Â
I had the absolute honour of delivering two sessions at the Real Women event just over a week ago - sharing my journey in the fitness industry and leading a standing movement session combining Pilates and resistance training.
Â
I’m always nervous before doing a talk
- that never seems to change - but put me in front of a group to lead movement and I’m completely in my element.
Â
Both groups were just wonderful. Some familiar faces from my current and past sessions and some new ones too. The atmosphere was such a lovely, supportive vibe - women chatting, connecting, listening, encouraging each other. You really can’t help but feel inspired when you’re surrounded by strong, kind women.
Â
I also had to do an interview as part
of the day… definitely out of my comfort zone! But that’s how we grow, isn’t it? We don’t wait for confidence - we build it.
Â
The food was incredible - beautiful vegan dishes provided by an all-female company - and everything ran so smoothly thanks to Sarah (one of my fabulous clients), who helped organise the event. She handled it all so calmly and does so much for our local community. Truly amazing.
Â
Despite the nerves that come with speaking, I left feeling
uplifted, energised and so grateful to have been part of something so positive.
Â
During my talk, I spoke about how important fitness is for women - especially as we move through our mid-30s and beyond. Muscle, bone density, hormones, mental wellbeing - strength training and movement are not about aesthetics, they’re about longevity. They’re about staying capable, independent and confident in our bodies for years to come.
Â
And something struck me while I was
sharing my story…
Â
There may be some of you reading this - especially newer subscribers - who don’t actually know how I started in this industry. In fact, even some long-term clients have said they didn’t know parts of my journey.
Â
So in my next email, I’m going to share it properly.
The leap of faith.
The career change.
The burnout.
The rebuild.
Â
Because, if there’s one thing this event reminded me of, it’s this:
When
women get strong, everything else in life gets stronger too.
Â
With gratitude,
Nicki x
