Hi ,
There was a time I genuinely didn’t think my upper body would ever feel strong again…
Two separate shoulder injuries.
Years of stop-start training.
And being told I would need surgery on both.
At one point, I avoided certain movements altogether.
Not because I didn’t want to train……but because I was
in so much pain and I didn’t trust my body.
I also lost a lot of muscle over those years.
And if you’ve ever been there, you’ll know how frustrating that feels when you want to train… but your body just won’t cooperate.
Fast forward to now…I was in the gym this week doing lat pulldowns and not one but two people commented on my back muscles.
One offered to film me doing lat pulldowns so I could see what they were
seeing!
And I had a little moment to myself… because this didn’t happen overnight.
What most people don’t see is…
👉 I still have a partial tear in my shoulder
👉 I didn’t “fix” everything and then start training
👉 I learned how to train with my body, not against it
That’s the difference.
Instead of stopping, I adapted.
I focused on:
• Rehab exercises to support the joint
•
Pilates to improve movement and control
• Strength training with the right technique and progressions
• Understanding what my body needed (and when to pull back)
And over time…the winging I used to have in my shoulders improved
My movement got better
My strength came back….. and I avoided having surgery…..twice!!
And now? I’m still building.
This is what I really want you to hear…
You are not “too injured”
You are not
“too far gone”
And it is NOT too late to rebuild your strength
Even if…
• You’ve been dealing with injuries for years
• You’ve been told to “just rest” or “avoid things”
• You’ve lost confidence in your body
There is almost always a way forward.
It might just look a little different to what you expected.
And that’s exactly what I help women with.
I help you:
- Work around injuries
(not ignore them)
- Build strength safely and progressively
- Move better so your body feels stronger, not more restricted
- Regain confidence in what your body can do
Because strength training in midlife isn’t about pushing through pain…
It’s about training smarter so you can keep going for years to come.
If this resonates with you, and you’re feeling unsure where to start (or how to get back into it safely)…just reply to this
email and let’s have a chat!
You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
