Hi ,
My It’s been a full and busy week over here - the kind that feels a little chaotic, but also really satisfying.
After our weekend away, I made a conscious decision to get straight back into my training routine… no “I’ll start next week” energy 😅 And I’m so glad I did. I’ve also managed to get out walking
every single day - something that hasn’t been happening for a while.
Between having a mole removed from my foot, the dreary days of January and February and just being busy with work and life… my step count had definitely taken a hit. But now? The lighter evenings and brighter mornings have made such a difference. It feels easier, more inviting… and I am absolutely loving being back outside and moving more again.
It’s a good reminder that sometimes it’s not
about motivation - it’s about making the most of the season you’re in and leaning into what feels more possible.
The weekend was all about connection too. I spent Saturday with family, then Sunday morning I had the BEST time with some of my Midlife Mojo ladies at our in-person meet up in my garden gym.
We focused on lifting technique first - really dialling in form, control and confidence - and then I put them through a full training session.
And wow… every single
one of them lifted heavier than they currently do at home or in the gym.
Not because they suddenly became stronger overnight… but because:
- They trusted themselves more
- They had guidance and feedback
- They realised they were capable of more
And that right there is where the magic happens.
So many women over 40 are underestimating their strength.
We’ve been conditioned to think we should go
lighter, take it easy, or that lifting heavy is “not for us”… when actually, it’s one of the most powerful things you can do for your body at this stage of life.
Here’s why building muscle is so important, especially in midlife:
✨ It helps boost your metabolism
✨ It supports fat loss and body composition
✨ It strengthens your bones (reducing osteoporosis risk)
✨ It improves balance, posture, and reduces injury risk
✨ It gives you energy, confidence, and that
strong, capable feeling
But here’s the key… it’s not just about “doing the exercises”.
It’s about how you do them.
Form and intensity matter.
If the weights are too light, or you’re not challenging your muscles enough, your body has no reason to change.
That’s why Sunday was so powerful - we didn’t just move, we trained with purpose.
And the best part? Every single one of them left
saying: “I’m going to lift heavier this week.”
That’s exactly what I want for you too.
So here’s your little nudge this week:
👉 Are you truly challenging yourself in your workouts?
👉 Could you go a little heavier, with good form?
👉 Are you training in a way that supports the strong, energised woman you want to be?
If you’re not sure… or you know you’ve been playing it safe, I’d love to help you change
that.
Hit reply and tell me:
“I’m ready to get stronger”
Or come and join us inside Midlife Mojo where I guide you through exactly how to train for results - safely, effectively and with confidence.
You are so much more capable than you think.
Let’s prove it 💪
