Every October, we shine a light on Menopause Awareness Month and on 18th October, the world comes together to mark World Menopause Day - an internationally recognised event established by the International Menopause Society (IMS) and the World Health Organisation
(WHO).
This year’s theme is one that’s very close to my heart - Lifestyle Medicine 💜
Lifestyle Medicine and Menopausal Health
Menopause isn’t an illness - it’s a natural transition - but it can bring challenges that impact energy, mood, sleep and overall wellbeing. The 2025 IMS White Paper highlights how lifestyle choices play a vital role in easing symptoms and supporting
long-term health.
It focuses on six key pillars that form the foundation of wellbeing during and after menopause:
- 🥗 Healthy Eating – nourishing your body with balanced, whole
foods to stabilise hormones and energy levels.
- 🏋️♀️ Physical Activity – regular strength, mobility and cardiovascular training to protect bone, heart and muscle health.
- 🧠 Mental Wellbeing – managing stress, mindfulness and self-care to support emotional balance.
- 🚫 Avoidance of Risky Substances – limiting alcohol, smoking and processed foods that can worsen symptoms.
- 😴
Restorative Sleep – prioritising good sleep habits to support recovery and hormone regulation.
- 💕 Healthy Relationships – nurturing connection and communication for emotional and social
wellbeing.
How We’re Embracing This in My Midlife Mojo Method
This was actually the focus in my Midlife Mojo Method programme last week!
