Hi ,
Â
Â
I celebrated my birthday on Friday! Paul and I decided to take a trip to Oxford for the day. We had such a lovely time. The weather stayed dry for part of the day, so we made the most of it by wandering around and taking in the sights. We stopped at a little independent shop for the most delicious homemade hot chocolate and a Pastel de Nata -
you know how much I love supporting independent businesses, being one myself!
Â
One of the highlights was discovering a beautiful independent jeweller, where Paul treated me to the most gorgeous pair of earrings for my birthday. As the rain eventually came down, we headed into the Westgate shopping centre for a browse and later made our way back to a Thai restaurant we’d spotted earlier. It was absolutely delicious - one of those meals you keep thinking about afterwards! We’ll
definitely be heading back to Oxford again to explore more…and to revisit that Thai restaurant. And yes, we clocked up about 15,000 steps while we were out and about!
Â
Yesterday we continued the celebrations with a lovely meal with my parents, as it’s my mum’s birthday today. Spending that time together felt especially precious. We recently lost my auntie - Dad’s sister - just three weeks ago and moments like these really make you pause and reflect. Time is such a gift. The
people we love are such a gift. Being able to celebrate both our birthdays together, share a meal, talk, laugh and just be with each other meant more than ever.
Â
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes - I truly felt the love. 💛
Â
Here’s to making the most of our days, appreciating the people around us, and holding those moments close.
Â
Love Nicki xx
