Hi
I want to talk to you about something that can truly change your future health — and it’s not another diet or a "miracle supplement" or a "quick fix".
It’s strength training.
Here’s the reality:
From our 30s onward, women naturally start to lose muscle mass — about 3–8% per
decade.
Once we hit menopause, that rate can accelerate.
And it’s not just muscle — bone density also declines, increasing the risk of osteoporosis.
This is why lifting weights is one of the most important things you can do in midlife.
Why it matters:
💪 Keeps you strong – so you can carry shopping bags, climb stairs and keep up with life without aches or
fatigue.
🔥 Boosts metabolism – muscle burns more calories at rest than fat, helping you manage your weight without endless cardio.
🦴 Protects your bones – weight-bearing exercise stimulates bone growth and reduces fracture risk.
⚡ Improves balance and stability – cutting the risk of falls as we get older.
😊 Confidence boost – feeling stronger changes how you move, stand and even think about
yourself.
The myth about “bulking up”
So many women worry that lifting weights will make them bulky. In reality, our hormones mean we simply don’t have the testosterone levels to build big, bodybuilder-style muscles.
What you will get is a leaner, more toned, more capable body that works for you — not against you.
I’ve seen it over and over with my clients — women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond getting stronger, feeling
more in control of their bodies, and watching everyday life get easier.
If you’re not already lifting weights (or using resistance bands, kettlebells, or even your own bodyweight effectively), now is the time to start.
The sooner you do, the more you can preserve your strength, metabolism and independence for years to come.
And yes, this is why strength training is a huge part of my Midlife Mojo
Method — not just for aesthetics, but for long-term health.
If you want guidance on exactly how to train safely and effectively for your body and stage of life, reply to this email or DM me “STRONG” and I’ll send you the details.
Here’s to strong bones, strong muscles and a strong mind — at every age.
To your health & strength,
Love Nicki xx
