In my last newsletter, we talked about how overwhelming it can be when there’s too much information out there about health, fitness, nutrition and lifestyle - especially for us women over 40. It’s like trying to drink from a firehose! No wonder it feels hard to know where to start or what to do next.
So today, I want to share some
simple, practical advice you can take away and start using right now to clear the clutter and make confident choices.
1. Focus on What Matters Most to YOU
Not every trend or “must-do” routine is right for your body, your goals, or your lifestyle. Ask yourself:
- What’s one health or fitness goal that would make the biggest difference to how I feel?
- What’s something small I can do daily that supports that goal?
Start there.
Maybe it’s improving your energy, reducing back pain, or just moving more gently. One change at a time wins the race.
2. Simplify Your Approach
You don’t need a complicated plan. Pick one or two key habits - like drinking more water, walking daily, or doing a short Pilates routine - and commit to those for a week or two. When those feel good and sustainable, add another small habit.
3. Be Selective About Your Info
Sources
Choose 1-2 trusted experts or resources you resonate with and stick to those. Too many voices can confuse you. When you find coaches or programs that align with your values and goals (like mine 😉), it’s easier to trust what you hear and take action.
4. Listen to Your Body
Remember, your body is your best guide. Notice how you feel after trying something new. Does it boost your mood, ease pain, or give you energy? Or does it
drain you or cause discomfort? Adjust accordingly.
5. Give Yourself Grace
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes. You’re doing your best and that’s enough. Celebrate small wins - every healthy choice is a step forward.
