Hi
Last week was been all about staying consistent, training smart - and knowing when to slow down.
It’s been hot, busy, and full-on at times… but I managed to stay on track with my training and make space for rest and connection, which is just as important.
💪🏼 Midweek I trained in my garden
gym – no time to get to the gym, so I adapted and made it work.
🔥 The heat was intense, but I stayed cool with:
- Hydration (water + electrolytes)
- Longer rest breaks between sets
- A cold, wet towel around my
neck
- Most importantly: listening to my body while still training hard
🏋🏼♀️ Friday, I hit the gym for my last strength session of the week and wrapped up the week strong.
And Saturday? I took a proper breather.
After a really busy week, I went for a peaceful walk Saturday morning, then spent some quiet time in the
garden with a book and a magazine. Friday night, we went out for dinner with great friends - so lovely to catch up, have a laugh and enjoy good food and great company.
We often focus so much on the doing - the workouts, the food, the routine - that we forget how vital rest and connection are, too.
They’re not a luxury. They’re part of the plan. Part of a strong, sustainable lifestyle.
Fitness in
midlife isn’t just about the training.
It’s about knowing when to push and when to pause.
When to challenge yourself, and when to sit still, take a breath and simply enjoy life.
This is how we stay consistent - long term.
Whatever your week looked like, I hope you made space for you somewhere in the mix.
Whether it’s 20 minutes of movement, a catch-up with a friend, or five peaceful minutes with a cuppa in the garden
- it all counts.
You don’t need to do it perfectly.
Just keep showing up - smart, strong and with self-compassion.
Here’s to a balanced week ahead ❤️
Take care,
