Hi
I wanted to share a little bit about our weekend adventure because it reminded me of something really important - the power of taking a break.
We celebrated Paul's birthday by heading off in our caravan for a lovely getaway to Ludlow. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it! Ludlow is a charming town packed with independent shops, a
fantastic market and a warm atmosphere. We were lucky with the weather too - dry and perfect for exploring.
On Saturday, we clocked up loads of steps walking to and from town from the caravan park. It felt great to stay active, even without my usual workout.
Then on Sunday, we visited Stokesay Castle - a fascinating English Heritage site that's absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Of course, we also enjoyed some downtime -
playing Scrabble, relaxing and just unwinding. I even skipped my usual weekend training session, which felt a little odd at first but honestly, it was just what my body needed. Rest is so important, and this weekend reminded me how essential it is to listen to what your body is telling you.
When we got back home, I jumped straight back into my gym routine on Monday feeling refreshed and energised. Taking that short break actually helped me feel more motivated and focused when
I returned to training.
So, if you ever feel guilty about stepping away from your usual routine, don’t! Breaks are just as important as workouts - they allow your body (and mind) to reset and recharge.
Oh and yes, Mitzi came along for the adventure too! She's a pro at caravan life now.
What about you? Where’s your favourite UK getaway spot? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
Take care and keep moving,
Nicki
