Hi
Are you familiar with the discomfort of tight or painful back muscles? Given our increasingly sedentary lifestyles, back pain affects around 90% of people at some point. If performed correctly, Pilates can be a valuable method to counteract the strains of modern life and promote a pain-free body.
Why
Pilates?
Back pain can arise from various factors, including sudden injuries or chronic conditions like arthritis or scoliosis. Pilates addresses lower back pain by targeting tight hamstrings and hip flexors and correcting postural imbalances that strain the spine. For upper back pain, often associated with "Tech Neck" from excessive device use, Pilates offers significant relief.
Staying Active is
Key
To alleviate back pain, it's crucial to stay active. Prolonged sitting can exacerbate the issue, so incorporating movement into your routine is key. Setting reminders to stand up and move every 20 minutes or investing in a standing desk can be beneficial.
Join Our Pilates Classes
Attending Pilates classes is an effective strategy to strengthen core muscles, stretch key muscle groups and enhance
spine mobility and strength. The method focuses on a balanced approach, initiating movements from a strong core that radiates outward, improving posture and core strength.
As Joseph Pilates noted, a flexible spine is crucial for overall well-being. Pilates emphasises spine articulation, helping individuals stand, sit, and lift without injury. Many clients express gratitude for the positive impacts of Pilates on their health, including improved posture, stronger
core muscles, better sleep, faster recovery after surgery and enhanced overall well-being amongst many more benefits.
Client Success Stories
I have many clients who have experienced transformative effects from Pilates on shoulder issues, back issues, muscle stiffness, hip issues, improved sleep, improved well-being and overall improved mobility and flexibility. These positive experiences underscore the potential benefits of
incorporating Pilates into your fitness routine.
