As we enjoy Summer, remember that different seasons can bring different priorities, desires and ambitions. So, let’s talk about setting Summer goals, whatever they might be for you this year.
- Do you want to reach your goal weight by Autumn?
- Or maintain the goals you made so far in 2024?
- Maybe you have a race or
competition coming up?
Goals are personal and there’s no right or wrong. So, give yourself permission to decide where your head’s at right now – and where you want it to be at the end of the Summer.
Here are some tips to keep in mind.
- Keep your Summer goals in context with your longer-term goals. So, revisit the goals you created at the beginning of the year. How are they coming along? What can you tweak? What can you
eliminate?
- Make even these short-term goals SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound.
- Balance them with your other priorities, like family, travel and work.
- Bake the idea of fun into them. Summer shouldn’t be dreary!
- Plan how you will celebrate reaching these goals when Summer ends.
Remember that goals can be useful even when they’re not set over the course of a long
time. They don’t have to address all the Big Questions of life. They don’t have to be super-serious all the time.
