Hello
Wow, what an amazing weekend! Picture this: a serene woodland in the Cotswolds, the perfect backdrop for a fabulous 50th birthday festival. Yes, I had the honour of being invited to one of my lovely client's milestone celebration - Lisa's Fest. And let me tell you, it was a weekend packed with laughter, music, and a few unexpected
adventures.
The festival was a glamping extravaganza, attended by around 20 wonderful women, each bringing their unique sparkle to the event. The organisation was top-notch, thanks to the tireless efforts of two of Lisa's friends. It was a two-night festival, and every moment was filled with delight.
The first birthday surprise on Saturday night was Gi Gi, a drag queen who sashayed into our woodland paradise in full glamorous attire. Picture it: a drag
queen, dressed to the nines, performing in the middle of the woods. Talk about a fish out of water! Gi Gi entertained us with songs, banter and more glitter than the forest had ever seen. It was both hilarious and fabulous, a true testament to the spirit of Lisa's Fest.
Sunday night brought a different kind of entertainment - a fantastic duo, 80’s Alive, who serenaded us with 80's tunes. This was my favourite part of the festival. Their music transported us back in time and we
danced like nobody was watching. Games were played, stories were shared and friendships were strengthened under the canopy of trees and twinkling fairy lights.
Now, let me share a little adventure we had. Four of us, including three of my LIFT ladies from our women-only weight training group, decided to take a short walk on Sunday morning. What was supposed to be a quick stroll turned into an almost three-hour trek as we got hopelessly lost. Despite our strength and fitness,
navigating the wilderness proved to be quite the challenge! It was part comedy, part survival story, but we eventually found our way back, laughing all the way.
Sleep? Who needs sleep at a festival like this? I had zero shut-eye on Saturday night. Instead, I embraced the early morning stillness, enjoyed the birdsong, and took a peaceful walk. By 5am, I was showered and ready for another day of fun and festivities.
The food was delicious, the company was
delightful, and it was heartwarming to meet so many fabulous women. Lisa, the star of the festival, truly has amazing friends, which is no surprise considering how generous, kind, and fun she is. I'm so honoured to have been part of her celebrations.
We got home late on Sunday night and while I'm relieved I didn't stay for the second night (two sleepless nights would have been brutal), I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. The weather was dry but chilly - those who
know me know I'm always cold, so yes, in June, I was bundled up in multiple layers.
Despite the cold and lack of sleep, the weekend was an absolute blast. The memories made at Lisa's Fest will stay with me forever. This week is going to be a challenge with all the busyness ahead, especially after missing a night's sleep, but it's all worth it.
So, here's to glamping, glamour and giggles. Cheers to Lisa and her fabulous 50th! Until the next adventure, my
friends!
Stay fabulous,
Love Nicki xx
